ARAPUNI.

REPAIR WORK COMPLETED. STANDING THE TEST. HAMILTON, September 11. The repair work to the lining of the head race at Arapuni has satisfactorily stood the test to which it has been subjected since water was admitted on Thursday to the coffer dam enclosing it. The level of the water in the headrace is now six feet below' the crest of the spillway, and, with further partial closing of the diversion tunnel to-morrow, the water will rise until it flows over the spillway on Thursday. Mr T. Rabone, the engineer in charge at Arapnni, stated this evening that the lining repaired had to be I tested further, hut so far he was highly satisfied with the results.
