AUSTRALIANS v. AUCKLAND. . In their first innings against the Auckland eleven the Australian cricketers made 431—Richardson 107, Alexander 95, Jackson 46, Ponsford 45. Player was the most successful bowler, securing four wickets for 93, and Weir three for 64. The Auckland batsmen failed to get going well, and were all disposed of for 171, Langridge being top scorer with 46, Player not out 27, Anthony 23. McNamee was the destroying element, he capturing five wickets for 12 runs. When stumps were drawn on Saturday Auckland, following on, had 20 oil tile board without the loss of a wicket.
