RAILWAY RETURNS.

During the four weeks ending 12 th October, the Wellington-Napier-New Plymouth railway section earned L 33,125 17s 5d as against L 28,575 2s lid for the corresponding four weeks of 1900. -The increases in the items of revenue are very regular—carriage of passengers increased from £10,540 17s in 1900 to £12,398 8s lOd in 1901 ; parcels, luggage, mails, etc., from £l7lO 9s Id to £1844 16s sd, goods from 2s to £17,089 4s 4d; rents and commissions from £1392 5s Id to £1484 18s Bd.
