The sentences passed on the nbi Vaurensburg, for treason and murd*r Colesburg, and Mailer, a farmer Beaufort West, for attempted murd« have been commuted to imprison®*! for life. Vaurensburg was fined £IOOO. One of Wolmaran’s Boer peace dih gates contradicts the story of plan for a settlement, and add* th* absolute independence of the Boen essential and that the Rand will noth ceded.
