Hawke's Bay Board of Rabbit Trustees.
Hawke's Bay lltrahl. Thursday, January 14. Present—Messrs Crosse, M'Hardy and Inspector Drummond. board's regulations. A letter was received from Mr J. Anderson in reference to complaints made about rabbits on his estate.—A resolution was passed regretting that the terms of the Board's letter had been misunderstood. Inspector Woof to be instructed to take measures to enforce tho Board's regulations against settlers on surrounding properties. Inspector M'Pherson to see that the fence, where destroyed by bush fires, be at once reinstated.
FINANCE. The financial statement for the year showed the expenses to be £8323 7s. The accounts for the past month, amounting to £l7l 14s, were passed for payment.
BEPORTS. Reports were received from tho following isspectors ; Prom Inspector Amyes : Slight traces Lake block, Clive Grange, and in Marshall’s flat block. Glenross to Kuripapanga and Conical Hill, no fresh signs. No signs on Toio, Smithfield, Mac's whare, Patoka, HeDdley, Ardlussa, Waihau, Mangatutu, Waikonini, Tunanui, or Omaranui. Started rabbit on Chesterhope and killed one on Okawa back block. No fresh signs on Ngapuki or Riverslea. Numerous traces on Twyford; rabbiter appointed. From Inspector Campbell: Hunted Wallace’s and Lake Hill; saw few traces. Black Spur, Beu Lomond, Kaiwaka, reserve Russell's Hill, Poningi big paddock, Mokomoko, Belmont, Dillon’s, Arapawanui, Waipapa creek, Moeangiangi, Ridgemount, Petane run and surrounding country, Cooper’s, Waiwaiti, G. Clark’s, and Marshall’s, hunted, no signs. Inspector Gayfer: At Wallingford and Wangaehau. On M'Lean’s many traces j rabbiter employed. Traces on part Tautani; started rabbit on top of Cape. At Porangahau; 54 pairs caught by Thompson on Maori grounds. Traces on Barker’s, and caught three rabbits ; toxa to be laid. Interviewed Mr Mackersey re rabbit destruction on Ngapairuru block, but he refused to do it. Traces on M‘Greevy’s, and started rabbit. Inspected part Tamurnu, Gollan’s, and Te Toki; no traces. Traces on J. M’Kenzie’s, and started two rabbits; being worked. D. Gollan's and Logan’s ; no traces, Traces on Mangatarata block. Hunted boundaries of Moteotoiaia and Mount Herbert; no traces. Traces at back Hatuma, and started two rabbits; rabbiter at work and toxa to be laid. On Hooper’s, Arlington; caught rabbit and found traces. None on Saxby’s, Tiffen’s, part Edenham, Elsthorpe, and part Te Apiti, but five rabbits caught at the latter place since August Ist. Over part Mangakuri; traces. Rabbiter at work on Papa Hope hill; toxa to be laid. Traces on Pourerere ; rabbiter at work and toxa to be laid. The Bame at Waikopiro. Fleming’s country improved. No traces on part Orouwhoru, but few on llakautatahi; rabbiter at work and toxa to be laid. Whenuahou much improved since rabbiter has been employed by association ; 50 rabbits have been caught.
