The cricket match at the Oval, Australians versus England, -was resumed and concluded to-day, the contest ending in a draw, as want of time prevented the completion. The English eleven in first innings scored a total of 346. _ [The Australians score was 551.] Earl Laudedae, who was struck by lightning yesterday, in Scotland, died to-day, from the injuries received. His Lordship was aged 62. The Duke of Wellington died suddenly to-day, at the railway station, Brighton. His grace was aged 77. Hong- Kong, August 13. Intelligence is to hand that the Chinese Government has sent communications to the Treaty Powers, protesting against the bombardment of Kelung by the French Fleet, and lias expressed its determination to resist the demand of France for an indemnity. Bombay, August 13. Two battalions of British infantry now stationed in India are to be ordered to proceed to Egypt without delay.
