Masonic Hotel, Napier, to contain specified 1 sum, name of owner and colours of the rider. Nominations for Handicap Hurdles, and Pakowhai Handicap to be sent in by 9 p.rn. on Tuesday, 6th December, accompanied by a fee of 1 sov for each nomination. Weights to appear on or before 9 p.m. on Wednesday, 14th December. Acceptance without fee by 9 p.m. on Tuesday, 20th December. Nominations for Maiden Plate, Christmas Stakes, Trotting Race, and Novel Race, by 9 p.m. on Tuesday, 20th December, with fee of 1 sov for each nomination. Weight for Christmas Stakes to appear on the course after the Pakowhai Handicap is decided.
Half forfeits (of 1 sov) to be declared and paid 12 noon on the day of the race for the following events or the whole sweepstakes, viz. : Maiden Plate, Pakowhai Handicap, and Handicap Hardies. All sweeps to be paid at scale and to be for starters only. Maiden shall mean a horse that has not won an advertised race at time of entry, Steeplechase, Hurdle, Hack races and matches excepted. Hack shall mean a horse that has never started in a weight for age handicap race. No entry will be received except upon the condition that all disputes arising out of the racing shall be decided by the Stewards, whose decision shall be final. v H. MONTEITH, ' \ lion. RULES. No person allowed to enter a horse unless lie is a subscriber of at least £1 to the Race Fund. All disputes to be settled by a majority of the Stewards, whose decision in all cases shall be final. Three horses to enter in each race or only half the public money will be given. Entries for Takapau Handicap and Handicap Hurdle Race to be sent in to the Secretary not later than the 22nd inst., with entrance money enclosed.
