Inter-Club Class For Jersey Teams Successful

The success which had attended the inauguration of an inter-club class for Jerseys at the last show of the Waikato Central Agricultural Association in Cambridge, was reported on at the annual meeting of We Cambridge: Jersey Breeders' Club recently. ;;The President, Mr R. Watcam,-stat ed that there had been . four entries, <;w}th the winners .coming'"from the Te Awamutu Club. "This - class;-'-which had been the thought and «vork of the late Mr G. A. Clark, was the only one of its kind to be h-aVI in New Zealand and congratulations were received from the Dominion Council on the club's initiative in staging it. The Cambridge Club was now attempting to place the class on a permanent footing, added, >ir Wattam, anu further support was forthcoming from neighbouring ciubo. Reporting on other activities of the club, Mr Wattam stated that the penr»ar>t for school cai'' clubs was won by Maungatautari No. 2. The field day held on Mr B. Moreland's property was well attended, in spite of adverse weather conditions, with visitors from all the surrounding districts. Mr J. Smith had acted as demonstrator, and gave a very keen address on the points of a dairy cow.

The election of officers resulted as follows: President, Mr R. Wattam; vice-presidents, Messrs B. Moreland and J. Smith; auditor, Mr C. V. Duignan; secretary, Mr A. K. Fletcher.

The balance sheet showed the club to be in a very sound financial position. A vote of thanks was extended to the honorary auditor, Mr Duignan. New members elected were Messrs H.-Campin, C. J. Kenny, A, Paton, Myers Bros., R. Speake, E. P. Neilson, J. McNeil.
