PROBLEMS FACING TELEVISION IN NEW ZEALAND

Television would, in his view, be instituted. in New Zealand but there were many problems yet to be solved, the chief engineer of the Post Office, Mr E. H. R. Green, said in an interview on his return from a broadcasting conference in Mexico City. It was not a case of “if” but “when”.

He felt the problems were suitable sources of programmes and economic support of the services. Mr Green, said it was a matter for the broadcasting authorities. His co-dele-gate, Mr W. L. Harrison, chief engineer of the National Broadcasting Service, would be reporting to that department about television.
