ANOTHER CABLE
'<MAN AND HIS WORLD
GEOGRAPHY AND HISTORY Further to the report of a cable which the Vicar, the Rev. Canon C. W. Chandler, received from the publishers of "Man and His World" which was published in the "Independent on Friday last, a further cable from London has been received by him. It reads as follows:—"Reference our cable "Man and His World," by controversy, do you mean combining teaching of geography and history, if so, there are two schools of thought over here'* George Phillip. The book in question, the Vicar states, combines the teaching of history and geography, and this is somewhat of a new departure in education.
Canon Chandler has replied to the further cable in the following terms:—"Controversv here snMv rclisious and lartjeU' seetnvian A full renort follows with nil press cuttings." "In view of the widespread controversy over this hook, these cables from London are most enlightening, for it aooears that no religious objections have been raised there, the inference bems? that English people, including Bishops and clergy gcnerall'v. are above such barn-yard squab? lin? and theological hair-snlittinu." concluded the Vicar in placing Ibis latest advice from the publishers at our disposal.
