WIND CAUSES DAMAGE
CYCLONE AT BUCKLAND’S ROAD
ROOF TORN FROM SHED
Somethlhg in the nature of a cyclone is reported to hrive passed over,the, vicinity of Buckland Road on a recent morning. The width of the disturbance was abbut 15 to 20 chains, 1 arid the wind Was* so strong that three men in a’cart on the very edge of its path were nearly blown out of the vehicle. On Mr R. Brinkworth’s property portion of the roof (about 25ft by 18ft) was torn from a new shed and part of it was hurled a chain and a half to strike a power pole and bring down the lines. The top was blown off a large f pig pen, and one piece of iron was carried twenty chains. Hay stacks in the path of the gale suffered damage, and branches were broken off trees.
