CAMBRIDGE SHOW

MEETING OF COMMITTEE PREPARATIONS FOR COMING FIXTURE. A meeting of the committee of the Waikato Central Agricultural Association was held in Cambridge on Friday afternoon, when the president, Mr J. S. Fisher, presided over a good attendance. Further arrangements were made for the forthcoming shown on February 28 and March 1. Trotting Event. A permit was received from the Minister of Internal Affairs to conduct a trotting event on the second day of the show. The North Island Sheep Dog Trials Association also granted a permit for the holding of dog trials. A letter was received from Dawson’s Displays, Auckland, offering to arrange a concert and dance on the second night of the show in aid of the association’s funds. Messrs J. S. lislier, G. Harris and Edgar James were appointed a committee to consider the scheme. The Cambridge Trotting Club granted the Show Association permission to remove portion of the course rail, owing to the different layout proposed fpr the show rings this year. Appointment of Stewards. Nolan; lead horses, thoroughbreds, Mr S. McMillan; hacks and hunters, Mr K. Butler; draughts, Mr J- S. Russell; harness horses and ponies, Messrs H. P. Hewitt, R. Lyons, T. A. Russell and R. Dillon; measuring, Messrs A. W. Gane and E. Martyn. Cattle: Supervising stewards, J. S. Allen, C. H. Cooper and Geo. Clark; milking and grade Shorthorns, W. Robinson; Fricsians, 11. Watkins, A. Main and E. Neely; Jerseys, C. Thompson, P. Miller, A. E. Peppercorn and E. G. Griffiths; Ayrshires, T. Myers and L. Macky; grade Jerseys and calf club classes, E. J. White and N. Pen a , sheep, E. G. Broad and N. Charlton; pigs, C. Speakc; dogs, T. Dagg. Homo Industries: Supervising stewards, Messrs G. Harris and A. N. Macky. Implements and sideshows, Messrs J. T. Entwislo and assistants. Gate stewards, Mr G. M. Watt and assistants. Parking steward, Mr E. Webber. Press steward, Mr P. T. Glanville. Dog trial stewards, Messrs H. P. Hewitt and Geo. Lambie. Trotting Stewards: Messrs H. Jones, G. Vosper, H. Raynoll, E. Speake, A. M. Fisher, W. A. Fisher, S. McMillan, C. McMillan and G. Peake.
