FAREWELL FUNCTION

TRIBUTE TO MR J. R. GARDINER

A very pleasant function was held at Gardiner's tea-rooms on Thursday evening last by the United Football Club to say farewell to Mr J. R. Gardiner, who has been a strong supporter of the club and football in Cambridge generally. Recently Mr Gardiner was created a life-member and on Thursday evening ho was presented with a gold watch pendant in tho form of a.football, suitably inscribed. # Regret was expressed at the depart■ure of Mr and Mrs Gardiner, and the hope was expressed that Mrs Gardiner's health would soon improve. Mr Gardiner suitably responded.
