A RECORD SKYSCRAPER.

BUILDING OF .110 STOREYS. ERECTION IN NEW YORK. Plans have been completed for the erection of the tallpst skyscraper in New York, to be known as the Larkin tower, of 110 storeys. It will rise 1200 feet above the ground, and will go nearly 50 feet below street level. It will th° Eiffel Tower, Paris, by 237 feet. The cost of the Larkin tower is estimated at £5,000,000, and the tors, Messrs Larkin Brothers, architects, anticipate completion in two years. The plans call for the use of 55,000 tons of steel. Traffic in the structure will be handled by 61 elevators. Top floors will be devoted to observation platforms. Not the least of many unique features will be a light at the top of the uttermost spire, to guide navigators and night flyers.
