TE AWAMUTU TEAMS’ VISIT. CAMBRIDGE WIN ALL GAMES. On Saturday morning basketball and football teams from the Te Awamutu school paid a return visit to Cambridge. The visitors brought over two basketball teams and a high school football team. They were beaten in all three contests the local basketball teams having a one-sided victory. The high school team were much superior to the T” Awamutu girls, whom they eventually defeated by 52 goals to 12. The local primary team was also successful, winning by 14 goals to 6. The high school football match resulted in a merited win for the home team by 15 points to nil.
The visitors were entertained to morning tea by the teachers and high school girls and spent a most enjoyable hour with the local pupils, many friendships having been made as the result of this and previous visits. For this reason alone it is to be hoped that the inter-district school games will be continued and further encouraged.
