Mr Harry Armstrong, of To Awannitu (late Cambridge) is on a visit to his home at Cambridge. He had the misfortune to break a finger when playing football at Te Awamutu recently, and is compelled to rest.

Monsignor Cahill, V.G., dean of Manukau, has been appointed a Prothonotary apostolic, and ,-Rev. Thomas Lane, Y.F., dean of Ohinemuri, a prelate, according to a cablegram received in Auckland from Bishop Cleary.
The death occurred in Australia recently of tho Rev. Septimus Hungerford, who, had he lived until August 12th next, would have reached 102 vears of age. Deceased was very well acquainted with the Rev. Samuel Marsden, who was the first minister to preach the Gospel in New Zealand.
