The "Matin’s” Pctrograd correspondent says that a widespread sensation has been caused by the revelations by SavinkofE Filoninko regarding the origin of the Korniloff plot. Korniloff acted in, accordance with plans drawn up in influential circles to save the country from the extremists. Ivornilolf feared the restoration of the monarchy and declared that the Rpmanoll's would have to pass over his dead body to reach the throne. At the last moment a difference of opinion arose between Korniloff and the Government in regard to the plans for marching on Petrograd, Soviet undertook to organise the defence of the capital and therefore the military plan to seize the capital was abandoned. The Socialist Press is excited over the revelations, and says it will be. very difficult to fix thei responsibility. KORNILOFF NOT TO BLAME. > CONFIDENCE GOVERNMENT.
