The victim is employed at a warehouse in the centre of the city. SEIZURE OF OPIUM. SYDNEY, January 9. a One hundred tins of opium were seized aboard the mail steamer Miowera. They bore the mark of a Vancouver firm. THE BOMB INdIDENT. SYDNEY, January 9. A man has been arrested in connection with the discovery of a bomb " at Mosman s Bay. It is alleged he threatened the owner of a* house for dismissing him. A quantity of fuse and detonators were found in the man’s house. FEDERAL INCOME TAX DISPUTE. (Received January 10, 9.46 a.m.) Melbourne, January 10. The Federal Parliament will be called together about the middle of : February, as the outcome of the Webb v. Outtrim income tax decision. It is likely that the Federal Parliament will take steps to remove jurisdiction in Federal matters from the State Courts and vest it exclusively in the High Court. SOUTH AUSTRALIAN GRAPES. Adelaide, JanuaryHO. Mr Kirkpatrick, Chief Secretary, has left for Sydney to join the Mono- v wai, en route to New Zealand. While at Wellington be will endeavour to induce the Government to remove the prohibition against the importation of grapes.
