Waikato Argus Office, This Day. DISTRICT SALES. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, report; — , . On Wednesday, March 15th, at Rangiriri, wo yarded over 300 head of cattle. Grown three to four-year-old steers were dull owing to want of condition, but all other classes elicited keen bidding. Well-bred 2 to 2A-year-old steel’s, £3 Is to £4 4s; 3-year-old steers, £4 10s to £5 ss; 15 to 18-months’ steers, £2 2s to £2 18s; strong calves, 18s to £1 Is; fresh conditioned cows, £3 5s to £4 2s fed; store cows, £1 10s to £2 ss; fat cows and prime heifers, £4 15s to £fe; fat and forward heifers, 17s; dairy cows, near calving, £4 15s to £5 10s. At Hamilton, yards on Thursday, May 16th, only a small muster of cattle were brought forward. Fat steers realised from £7 5s to £8 7s fed; fat cows and heifers, £4 10s to £5 ss; aged heavy cows, £3 10s to £4 4s; good calves, 20s to £1 4s each; fat ewes, 16s fed; weaner pigs, 3s fed to 8s; slips, 10s to 12s; pony, saddle and bridle, £fe. On Friday, May 17, at Cambridge, we yarded over 600 head of cattle. A large number of buyers were present from Te Puke, Hikutaia, Ngaruawahia, and all parts of Waikato, and though a few pens of forward steers did not realise owners’ expectations the balance of the stock changed hand’s at the hammer or afterwards at satisfactory prices. Fat steers yarded in excess of requirements, but 87 light weight steers, prime heifers, and young cows were sold, bat steers realised from £7 2s to £8 17s fed; cows and heifers, £4’lss to*'£s 10s; heavy fat cows, £3 10s to£4 12sfed; fresh-conditioned 3-year-old steers, £6 5s to £6 15s; well-bred 2 to 21-year steers, £3 2s fed to £3 10s; 3-year-old store steers, £4 12s fed; 15 to 18 months steers, £2 5s to £2 16s; fresh-conditioned cows, £2 15s to £3 2s fed; store cows, £1 10s to £1 17s fed. A large number of really well-grown calves were sold at the hammer. The best sorts from £1 2s fed to £1 7s; others, 16s to 19s; small calves, 8s to 12s; quiet yearling to 18-months heifers, £1 11s to £1 17s fed; 3-year-old dairy heifers in calf, £3 5s to £3 18s; choice 3-year-old heifers, near calving, £5 15s. Fat wethers, 20s each. Weaner pigs, 8s to 12s. A medium draught mare, £24. WOOL SALES. f The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, has received the following cable from its London House, under date 16th inst.The wool sales have closed at the level of last sales, except that, as compared with last sales closing rates, prices are about five per cent, lower for cross-bred lambs, scoured merino, inferior, coarse scoured crossbred, coarse cross-bred slipe, medium greasy cross-bred, medium cross-bred slipe, and medium scoured cross-bred.
