PERCH FOR THE HAMILTON LAKE
Trout have been repeatedly pliced iu the Hamilton Lake, tut so far no visible results have appeared. Mr W. H. It is a b.lil biter, and, like the othei fishes ot prey, carries its teeth in its mouth, anrl will devour several othet kinds of fi-h. It has a hooked or hog-back, which is armed with stiff bristles, and all its skin is covered over with thick, dry, hard scales, and it has which few other fish have, two tins on its hack. A few small perch make a dainty dish. '1 he Germins have this proverb, 'More wholesome than a perch of Rhine.'
