WAIRARAPA ASSOCIATION , matches? The competition matches of the Wairarapa Basketball Association were continued on Saturday in fine weati*. Stars I sprang a surprise by def wiring Wairarapa High School Old Girla I, the leading team in the A grade sec tion. Stars were much quicker in the centre third than their opponents, who lacked combination, due to the fact that R. Brown and J. Renner were not available, but N. Bennington played a good game. For Stars, J. Ratner waa outstanding in the centre and the passing in the forwards was of a high standard. Results:— A grade: Stars I beat Wairarapa High School Old Girls I, 27/23; Stars II beat Wairarapa High School Old Girls n, 11/10; lona beat Technical Old Girls, 18/7. B grade: Greytown beat Hospital, by default; Dalefield beat Wairarapa High School n, by default; Stars beat lona, 13/5. Players holding, raffle books must return them to the secretary not later than Friday, July 31.
