The body of Hugh McAllister, a well-known farmer, of Puha, a married man aged 55, was found floating in the Gisborne Harbour on Saturday afternoon.—(P.A.) The death occurred at Invercargill yesterday morning of Mr» William Mac Alister, at the age of 76. The bout was spectacular, with much showmanship, but alijo good hard wrest-ling.--(P.A.) The Wairarapa junior Rugby representatives will play the Puketoi subUnion at Pongaroa on Wednesday. Muerk is not available and will be replaced by E. Grantham (Red Star). One of the emergencies, J. Costello is also not available and the emergencies will now be J. Fenwick (Greytown) and C. Goodhue (Masterton). A wrestling bout at Westport between Earl McCready and Kopach Woods was won by McCready with a pin fall with a crutch hold in the' seventh round. The Theatre Royal was crowded for the occasion and spectators were treated to an interesting match, devoid o'f showmanship. For the week ended on Friday last, the New Zealand Meat Producers’ Board reports that the market for New Zealand lamb in London was steady, with a slight improvement in the prices of heavyweights. Canterbury, 43 lbs. to 501bs. and North Island Downs of the same weight advanced from 6|d to 6 3-Bd. Other lamb prices were unchanged. Wether mutton was in fair demand. Ewe mutton was in better demand, with prices firmer. Frozen beef was slightly easier, New Zealand hinds at 3 5-8 d and fores at 25-8 d both showing a drop of l-8d per lb. compared with the preceding week. Chilled beef was also easier owing to heavier supplies. The quotations for New Zealand chilled beef, with those of the preceding week in parentheses, were: —Hinds, 5d (5Jd); fores, 25-8 d (2|d). With demand quiet, but prices firmer, quotations for New Zealand porker pigs advanced l-8d per lb., the reported prices being:—6o/801bs., fid; 81/100, 5 7-8 d; 101/120, 6d. The market for New Zealand baconer pigs was steady and unchanged at fid. Sum of money lost. Reward. Board and lodgings wanted by young lady. . J Young lady wanted for junior position showroom. Mr. D.
