LODGE AFFAIRS.

FORESTER'S FORTNIGHTLY MEETING. The fortnightly meeting of the Foresters' Lodge was held on Monday night, there being a fair attendance of members presided over by C.R. Bro. R. Davies. The sick visitors reported that the members on the sick list were making satisfactory progress. The secretary reported that three members had declared on the sick fund. Bro. Howes reported on the Saturday night card tournament, and Bro. R. Davies reported on the U.F.S. Council card tournament. Bro. J. Barr placed before the lodge a copy of the statement of the activities of the Dispensary for the past month. Bros. C. A. Leigh and G. Selby delegates to the annual meeting of the Hospital Association, gave a very comprehensive report of the meeting, placing great stress on the important work and benefits that were being carried out by the association and urged all members to take advantage of the scheme. The annual balance and hospital statement was also placed before the members, the members signifying their entire satisfaction of the results of the balance sheet and the working of the association in general. Reference was made to the death of Mr. W. Fisher, chairman of the Hospital Board. The secretary was instructed to forward a letter to the Hospital Board expressing the lodge's sympathy with the board.

Sick pay and accounts amounting to £52 5s 6d were passed. The secretary reported that the new regalia had not come to hand yet but it was expected to arrive any day. ODDFELLOWS. The usual meeting of the Oddfellows' Lodge was held on Monday night, Bro. J. Harris presided over a good attendance of members. One new member was initiated into the order. The lodge decided to hold a ladies' night on August 17, when all members and their wives will be invited. The lodge officers were appointed a committee to arrange same. Correspondence dealing with the juvenile movement was dealt with, and also from the M.U. Hospital Association. A remit dealing with benefits was forwarded through the district secretary to the National Council of Friendly Societies.
