WEATHER REPORTS.
Masterton: Miss A. M. Brown reported as follows for the 24 hours ended 9 a.m. yesterday:— Barograph, 30.20; shade temperature, maximum, 51.6; minimum, 43.4; terrestrial, 42.4; sunshine, 3 minutes. The Government Meteorologist (Dr. E. Kidson) reported at 4 p.m. yesterday:—An anti-cyclone covering the Tasman Sea and New Zealand has been gradually losing in intensity, a very shallow depression is approaching from the west. Forecast: Winds light to moderate and variable south-easter-ly predominating in the North Island and westerly over the southern half of the South Island but later winds becoming northerly about and south of Cook Strait. Weather: Fair to cloudy in most districts but isolated showers still probable in South Westland and Foveaux Strait and at first also in the far north and north-east; temperatures becoming gradually milder. Sun rises, 7.4 a.m.; sets, 4.32 p.m. Lighting-up time, 5.2 p.m.
