PERSONAL ITEMS. Mrs. T. Thompson, Auckland, and her little daughter, are staying with i Mrs. B. V. Skeet. Miss Parsonson, Upper Hutt, is spending a few days with Mrs. E. G. Norman, Cole Street. Mrs. D. M. Mclntosh and Miss Struthers, who have been visiting Masterton for the golf tournament, have returned to Hastings. Mrs Paul Page, Eketahuna, has been staying with Mrs. H. M. A. Major, Pownall Street. Miss Alice Eton, Cornwall Street, has returned from a visit to Napier. Miss C. Bellis, who has been staying in Wellington, has returned to Masterton. Mrs. H. T. Wood, Victoria Street, has gone to Tauranga, where she will spend the winter. Mrs. K. Baird, Raetihi, has been staying with Mrs. Baird Senr., Coradine Street. Miss Jessie Morrison, daughter of the late Mr. Rupert Morrison and Mrs. S. Tomlinson, of Wellington, is now in Dresden, studying for opera. After going home about two years ago, Miss Morrison spent some time in England, meeting many interesting people and visiting many places of note. Going then to the Continent, Miss Morrison was for some months at a finishing school in France and then for another period in a professor’s family, “au pair” with the daughter of the house, to gain familiarity with the language. Miss Morrison is a ■coloratura soprano and her teachers have commended highly the pitch and purity of her voice. Ou completing her training she anticipates working with the Berlin State Opera. One of her friends is Baroness von Zedlitz, a niece of Professor von Zedlitz, of Wellington. One of Miss Morrison’s brothers travelled by air from France to spend some time with her and another travelled by air from England.
