MEETING OF COMMITTEE. COMING FUNCTIONS. A meeting of the Central Committee of the Wairarapa B.S.A. was held in Masterton on Thursday evening. Mr. J. H. Irving presided, and there were also present: Messrs A. H. W. Evenden, E. Sortain Smith, G. M? Permain, W. J. White, L. S. Nicol, W. L. Free, S. Fletcher, H. F. Budd, G. T. Cornick, and Messrs Gibb Johnston and A. S. Murray (Carterton). An apology for absence was received from Mr. J. Martin (Martinborough). An applicant for Flock House came before the committee for examination, but was stood down for 12 months. A copy of the annual report and statement of accounts of the association, was approved for submission to the annual meeting, subject to audit. Accounts amounting to £972 16s 2d were passed. A letter was received from General Sir Alexander Godley, expressing his thanks and appreciation for the hospitality extended to him during his recent visit to the Wairarapa. It was reported that arrangements were well in hand for Poppy Day throughout the Wairarapa, and that arrangements for a public Memorial Service in the Park on Anzae Day were completed. With regard to the King’s Jubilee celebrations, it was decided that the association take part” as a body in the public church service on May 6, and that the Municipal Band be asked to march the parade from the club to the church. One new member was elected. The date of the annual meeting was fixed for April 29.
