The "Dispatch” says His Majesty’s collection of gold plate, including the famous dinner service is now, owing to the increased price of gold, worth £3,375,000 sterling. It will not be used at the Jubilee State dinner. It will not be used on similar occasions for some time owing to its value but will be displayed at the banquet hall as a decoration, the guests dining from china plates.
