CHATJENGE CUP FOR JUNIORS In spite of the unfavourable weather there was a good muster of runners and supporters at the official opening of the Kiatere Harrier Club-’is season on Saturday.. The slow and junior packs went off together under the club captain, for a run of about miles with a fast finish over the- last quarter of a mile. Hack, captain of the Masterton Club also spoke. A hearty vote of thanks to the ladies’ committee,, proposed by Mr. Traill, was carried with musical honours. An impromptu singsong and the singing of Auld Lang Syne brought the afternoon to a close. A particularly enjoyable dance in the Epiphany Hall in the evening successfully opened the social side of the club’s activities. With Mr. E. Green at the piano and Mr. J. Burns as M.C., everything went with a swing and an excellent supper completed the success of the evening.
