FIXATION OF AUSTRALIAN REBATES. ON EXPORTS TO’ NEW ZEALAND. (Received This Day, 0.11 a.m.) CANBERRA, May 4. The sugar export committee has determined that the rates of rebates on the sugar content of goods exported to New Zealand from the Commonwealth during May, 1034, will be as follows:— Fruit £6 4s a ton; other goods, £8 8s a ton. The chairman said the lower rates on exports to New Zealand were the outcome of the recent trade agreement with New Zealand, which provided that the sugar content in Australian goods entering New Zealand shall cost not less than the import duty, plus the New Zealand Customs duties.
