WEDDING.

McCarthy—moore. A wedding of considerable local interest took place at the Masterton Methodist Church on Easter Saturday, the contracting parties being Mavis Ellen, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs C. Moore, Waingawa, and Bernard Lustid McCarthy, of Wellington. The Bev. V 4 R. Jamieson was the officiating minister and Miss A. M. Jones presided at the organ. The church was very beautifully decorated by friends of the bride.

The bride, who was given away by her father, looked charming in a beautiful frock of ivory crepe satin, with a twelve gored skirt and puff sleeves. She wore the customary veil and orange blossom and carried a bouquet of roses, sweet peas, carnations and maidenhair fern in attractive tones of pink and cream. bouquet was kindly made by a friend. Mrs. D. M. Hoult, of Levin, a cousin of the bride, was matron of honour and wore a shell-pink frock of crepe satin with a pretty shoulder cape. Her hat and shoes toned with, her frock and she curried a bouquet of dalhias, pink roses and maidenhair fern. The bridesmaid, Miss Eden Martin, Lower Hutt, was attired in blue crepe-de-chene with a blue coatee to match. Her hat and shoes toned with her frock and her bouquet consisted of delphiniums, sweet peas and dahlias in shades of pink and blue. Mr. Bert Long, Wellington, carried, out the duties of best man and Mr. Bussell Kenny, cousin of the bride, was groomsman.

There was a verjr large attendance of friends and relatives from various parts of the Dominion at a reception held subsequently in the Park Tea Kiosk. Mrs. C. Moore, mother of the bride, received the guests wearing a handsome frock of blue marocain trimmed with lemon. She carried a bouquet of blue and yellow dahlias *and delphiniums. tThe'usual toasts were honoured at the reception, a special one being for the bride S«jsrandfather, who is 80 years of age. Among the guests were Mr. and Mrs. Alex. McDonald (Wellington, late of Dunedin), Mrs. A. Harper (Dunedin), Mrs. Martin (Lower Hutt), Mr. and Mrs. Atkinson (Wellington), Mr. and Mrs. McCarthy (Wellington), Mr. and Mrs. Quirk (Wellington). A dance was held later in the evening for the guests. The hap<py couple, whose future home will be in Wellington, were the recipients of many beautiful presents and a host of congratulatory telegrams.
