ACHIEVEMENT BY LONDON GIRL. SEVEN LOOPS BEFORE! LANDING. LONDON, April 5. Starting from Frankfort yesterday in a German glide# towed by aeroplane Miss Joan Meakin, a twenty-four-year-old London airwoman, to-day took off from Ostend and landed at Lympne 74 minutes later. Miss Meakin said ‘that the cross-Channel glide at a height of 2000 feet was lovely. Later she glided to Heston in an hour looping seven times before landing.
