KURIPUNI LAMEa’ GUILD. ’ ANNUAL. MEETING. The annualjneetiufp of the Kuripuni ? Methodist Ladies’ Gpild was held jn . the social room cm Thursday aftera|6n, . when the Rev.. V. li-. Jamieson prerifled , over a good attendance of members. The Devotional exercises were conducted by the chairman after which routine business rceoaiind attention. Two new members were elected and welcomed to the meeting. The annual report, submitted by the. secretary, Mrs.. P- Miller, stated:,. ‘ ‘ During the year, just ended the Guild has held ten meetings which have been well attended. The holding of several gift afternoons and social evenings have greatly..helped the-Guild both socially and financially. Owing to the removal to Auckland, last April, of the Rev. W. Parker and Mrs. Parker, the guild lost their valued advice and help. At a spacial function Mrs. Parker was farewelled by the Guild members, when she was made the recipient of a token of the Guild’s appreciation* eft her assistance, always so freely given. Later in the year the Rev. V. R. Jamieson and Mrs. Jamieson were welcomed to ttte. ohuTch. The Guild sriahes to place on record its appreciation of the help. received from Mrs. Jamieson during the- year. The year, closes with an increase, of membership. and hopes are held out for further increases during the present year. The. Cherry Blossom Fair in October proved outstandingly successful, the trusteaau and the circuit bothi benefiting by the result. In conclusion thanks are extended to all who have in any way assisted the Guild during the past year.” The balance-sheet which showed a credit balance of £3 was. presented by the treasurer, Mrs. Blane and adopted. The following officers were . elected for the year:—President, Mr*. V. R. Jamieson?, vice-presidents; Mrs. Wilton, Misses Burton apd Jones; secretary, Mrs. A.. Miller; treasurer, Mrs. G. Blane; church visitors, Mrs. Carr and Miss Janes; social committee, Mesdames Harrington, Tulloch and Walsh. . At the? conclusion of the b«siness af- - ternoon. tea was served and, a successful meeting closed with the pronouncing of the Benediction. HARVEST THANKSGIVING.

Very successful Harvest; Thanksgiv-. ing services were conducted in the. Kuripuni Methodist Church last Bunday,, the church being filled to its capacity for the evening service. The preachers for the day were Revs. G. F. .Stockwell and V. R» Jamieson, who preached appropriate sermons. The choir acquitted itself well in the anthems “O’ Father Almighty,” “Bear Nbt O’ Land,” “Ye,.Shall Dwell in tae Land,” and “King of Kings.” A.special word of praise is due to the ladies who so tastefully decorated the church for the occasion.

On Monday evfniwg the church again filled by an appreciative audience when the Harvest Festival waa concluded. The choir on this occasion was ably assisted by the following artists:—Misses Jamieson, Joses and de Lisle and Mr. L. Donald. The vicepresident of the Methodist Church of New Zealand, who was present delivered a very able and timely address. At the conclusion of the musical programme the gifts were disposed of and the proceeds of the Thanksgiving Festival devoted to the Circuit Fund. SUNDAY SCHOOL.

The pupils of the Kuripuni Methodist Sunday School, have commenced practising for the anniversary which is to be held on April 15. Itr. W. Davies and Miss parton are training the children for the musical part of the anniversary and Miss M. Jones has taken charge of the elocutionary portion. The prospects present point to a very successful function.
