SOUTH WAIRARAPA ITEMS, MARTINBOROUGH. (“The Age’’ Special). Mrs. McDonald is visiting Wellington, xritere she is the guest of her daughter, Mrs. Ashby. Mrs O’Connell, Napier, and Miss Anderson, Wellington, are staying with Mrs. W. Colman. Miss K. Wall, Ohau, is spending the school holidays with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. B. E. Wall. Miss Grace Anderson, of the loeal hockey team, has been chosen to play In the Wairarapa team against a Wellington team, at Wellington, to-day. There was a large attendance at the Parish Hall on Tuesday evening, when the Rev. F. A. Crawshaw, New Zealand Secretary of the Leper Mission, delivered a most interesting lecture on the Work of the mission throughout tba. world. Over a hundred lantern slides were shown during the evening. The speaker was introduced by the Rev. F. E. Fleury and. prayers were offered > by the Rev. A. Hardie. A most successful dance was held in the Parish Hall on Monday night by • the combined football and hockey clubs. The euchre was also very welt attended, prizes being won by Mesdames A. Smith and Davidson, alsoMessrs. Aitchison and Richardson. Prizes for novelty dances were woa-by Miss McGillicuddy and partner and! Miss Aitchison and partner. Mr. Preston Hayman acted as M.C., and excellent music was provided by th# BlueRiver Dance Band.

Miss M. Orr is the guest of Mrs...BSmith, Waihenga.
