The newspapers belatedly disclose the British measures to control imports from Russia. They fulminate against everything British. The "Isvestia” declares: “That they cannot frighten us. The Soviet is determined mercilessly to mete out justice to all wreckers, including the British.” The formal indictment will be handed to the accused on Monday. The trial is unlikely to start before Thursday, the Russian day of rest, enabling as many workers as possible to attend. Counsel for Mr. J. Crushy is M. Peter Lidoff and for Messrs Nordwall and Gregory, M. Aaron Dolmatovsky. OTHER, COUNSEL. PREPARING THE -DEFENCE. MOSCOW, April 7. Five of the Vickers employees, who are out on bail, have now learned the nature of the charges. They were individually selected and interviewed ■ by counsel from the Collegium of Defence. The lawyers’ plans are well forward. Mr. Alan Monkhouse conversed w'ith M. Vorokhodin, president of the Collegium regarding representation. Mr. Macdonald is still detained. M. Nicholas Komodoff appears for Mr. Monkhouse, and M. Dia Braude for Mr. Thornton. Both are noted counsel. WRECKERS SENTENCED. TWO ACCUSED ACQUITTED. (Received Sunday, 7 p.m.) MOSCOW, April 8. The trial of employees of the Stalin Engineering Works charged with "wrecking” resulted in sentences of ten years downwards. There were two acquittals.
