BANKER INDICTED.

ACTION BY AMERICAN GRAND J URY. ALLEGED FALSE ENTRIES IN BOOKS. NEW’ YORK, April 6. Joseph W. Harriman, former head of the Harriman National Bank and Trust Company, was indicted on Thursday by a Federal Grand Jury on charges of making or causing to be made fourteen false entries in the books of the bank. Harriman had previously been arrested on a Federal warrant charging him with similar offences. The bank did not open after the bank “holiday,” being placed in the hands of a conservator.
