SLUM CLEARANCE.
MINISTRY OF HEALTH PLAN IN BRITAIN. CONDITIONS FAVOURABLE AT PRESENT. (Received Friday, 7 p.m.) LONDON, April 7. The Ministry of Health has issued a decree embodying a five-year plan for the abolition of slums in England and Wales. The authorities point out that present conditions are favourable to call upon all local authorities to prepare plans for rehousing the people before 1938.
