A child named Francis George Goddard, aged two years and eleven months, was knocked down by a motorcycle in Adelaide Bead, Wellington, shortly before 5 o’clock on Thursday afternoon, and received severe head injuries, from which he died in hospital at 6 p.m. The child was a son of Mr. David Maxwell Goddard, of No. 2 Broomhedge Street. The driver of the motor cyclo Sydney Ellingsford, was riding down Adelaide Road at the time, and it is stated that the child stepped suddenly from the footpath.
