CARTERTON RACING CLUB.

MEETING OF STEWARDS. (“The Age” Special.) A meeting of the stewards of the Carterton Racing Club was held on Friday evening, Mr W. Howard Booth presiding. It was decided to apply for October 17 as the date for the annual race meeting. A circular letter was received in reference to the sportsmen’s presentation to Sir George Clifford, President of the Racing Conference, and it was decided to make a donation to the fund. Mr Geo. Neich was recommended for a trajner’s license, and A. Ridgeway for an apprentice license. The Wairarapa Motor Cycle Club were granted the use of the course on the same terms as last year.

It was resolved to ask the South Wairarapa Trotting Club for a copy of the 1923-24 balance-sheet. It was decided to advise the Racing Conference that the IJ-mile start had been straightened to a width of 83ft. MASTEBTON CLUB. The annual general meeting of the Masterton football club will be held to-morrow (Tuesday) night.
