SOUTH WAIRARAPA ITEMS. (Our Travelling Reporter.) An Increase. It is estimated that there is an increase of 10 per cent in the butter-fat returns in the Wairarapa as compared with last season. Fay Out. The Dalcfield Dairy Company will to-day advance 9d per pound on but-ter-fat supplied during the month. There will also be a final payment of Id p<jr pound on butter-fat supplied last seasons, bringing the payment up to 1/7 per pound, a price excelled by few companies in the Dominion. Postponed. The annual meeting of the Gladstone Sports Club, to have been held on Wednesday night, has been postponed till Monday. School Concert. There was a big attendance at the concert presented by pupils of the Cax~ terton District High School on Wednesday evening. The programme reflected credit not only on the performers, but on those responsible for their training. Carterton Schoo] Site. Had the Carterton Borough Council revoked its previous resolution to exchange the ■ Holloway reserve as a school site for a section presented by householders it would have nullified the whole of the efforts of those who set out to secure the site.
