HOBBS AGAIN IN COURT.

CHEQUE KEPT FOR BLACKMAILING.

LONDON, Dec. 13. —At Bqw street, prosecuting counsel, Oliver, said that ho would ask for the committal ,Af Hobbs on an additional charge of conspiracy to obtain money by menaces. He declared that the second cheque which was identified at Hobbs’ offices by Arthur and Sir Hari Sing’s solicitor, and subsequently burned, was a dummy. The real cheque was at present in court. It was retained with a view to further blackmailing.

Counsel mentioned that Hobbs, in going to France, was robbed by a sailor whom he subsequently prosecuted. Hobbs was remanded to December 19.
