ADVICE TO THE WORKERS.
A few', months ago a ■gentleman, who was keenly interested in the labour movement in New Zealand" wrote as follows of the leaders of the Federation of Labour :
"The programmes they advocate; have been ou trial elsewhere, and
nave always collapsed, and must always collapse, on 1 the hands of those who promote them. Direct action is in every country in the world the watchword of propertydestroying persons. There, is nothing *o bo gained by avoiding the issue. Syndicalism, direct action, anarchism, are the worst enemies of the working class. They have caused immeasurable harm wherever they have gained power, and influence among the workers. There is no use trying to unite 'barn-builders' and 'barn-burners' in the same company lor building purposes." .
Who was the author of these words ? It was none other than Mr W. T. Mills—otherwise Mills—who is to-day unfurling the flag of Red-Fedism in CTiristchurch. When were they uttered? As late as April, 1912. How can tMf people of Christchurch; how can the workers of NewZealand, attach credence to the word of a man who somersaults in this fashion?
