YMOMPSQN-PAYNE PICTURES. 'LORD AXD PEASANT." Last, night saw tihe usual large at-; tendance at the T.P. Electric Theatre to witness the screening of the current programmme. "Lord and Peasant,," an ivdison feature, again proved very pop\\la.r, ; being a deep and tragic plot. "Two Littls Rangers," a Solax Western film, proved a most interesting item. It showed the .daring heroism of two little" women in the west. "The Street Singer" was a pretty romance from the Kalem studio. It was h characteristic feature film, showing how a girl, raised from the slums to be a star neirfornier, returned, to tU? lover oi sier "lowly day. Ahctthet 1 fine dramatic conception was ''A Struggle of Hearts." "Eclair Journal" supplied the topical litemis of the week. "llroJft Forest to Mill" wa s a most i teresting study by the Selig Company., Other series included "Animal Preservation." The comedy section wa-s well represented, and included "The Love PMltre," "Sanction of Mr Stout," "Bessie's l>ream," a.nd "Alkali Ike Stung." To-night there will be a grand performance in aid of the Wairarapa Amateur Athletio Club, when Mr J. Payne. M.P., will present the McVilly Shield. For Wednesday a big feature is advertised in the Nordisk masterpiece, "Tlie Secret Treaty," 3200 feet in length.
