THE WATER SUPPLY.
I We aro pleased to notice that ConnI cillor Ewington intends introducing the question of the inadequate water supply, at the next meeting of the Masterton Borough Council. Wo are ! not sure that he is going the right way to work in suggesting specifically what course should be pursued.. It would be better if lie wero to throw the whole responsibility upon the j borough engineer, and ask for a genI era! report on the present service, I with recommendations for its improve- • ment. The necessity for immediate | action in the matter must be impressjed upon the public generally. There .is no doubt that the township, at , the present time,- is in extreme peril from an outbreak of fire, and the Borough Council will be accepting a, t very «erious- responsibility if it remains inactive.
