Mr Mattson then spoke at some length on church. matters, and the Sunday school, of which he has been superintendent for many years. After the singing of one or two Xmiis hymns, a Xmas tree, provided for the children, was lighted up. and prizes won during the year distribiitccl. A dainty supper was provided in the old schoolroom, where a SHcial evening was arranged. Tho programme was as follows:—Violin Sffllo (Holy City), E Larson; chorus, (Jesus, My Kock). choir- solo. Children's Home, Mi'sMelvav; chorus, (Take My Hand), the chi'ldren ; duet, (A Summer Song), Misses Eriekson; cornet sc!o. ("He "Wipes the. Tear from every Eye), 0. Petersen ; .solo ('Twill not be Long), Miss Lafolley : quartette. (Nearer My God To Thee). Pastor and Mrs Bach, and Mr and Mrs Jensen. Mr M. JSeilson, who competed so successfully last season at various sports .meetings, had tho misfortune to strain the sinews of his left foot while practising for the high ,iumr>, and he is now compelled, to cease training. Havmakins.'- is in full swing. Fields of newly-mown hay, or small stacks, are to be seen in every direction. The weather is ideal, and the crops si.ro being harvested in excellent order.
