CONFERENCE OE NATIONALISTS. UNITING OF IRISHMEN. NEW LEAGUE TO BE FORMED. Received March 1, 9 a.m. LONDON, February 28. At a conference of Nationalists at Cork, Mr William O'Brien, M.P., presiding, it was decided to found, in a spirit of the broadest toleration, a league for Ireland, having as one of its aims the uniting of Irishmen. The league will also endeavour to bring about a concentrated movement to obtain self-government for Ireland, and promote other projects of importance to the country.

LIBERALS PERTURBED. Received March 1, 9.10 am. LONDON, February 28. Liberals are perturbed because Mr Thomas Gibson Bowles, their candidate for the Central Glasgow seat, is putting Home Rule before the fiscal question. He has been officially assured that by doing this he has secured a heavy Irish vote.
