Messrs Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report on their Pnhiatua sale yesterday as follovtsWe sromitted a very large yarding of both sheep and cattle, 5,700 sheep and 5(35 head of cattle coming forward. Sheep on the whole sold well up to recentvalues, but cattle were somewhat dull of sale. Good rape lambs sold very l'reely, also good sound mouthed ewes. Culls in all classes did not elicioate very keen bidding. We quote:-4 end 5 year ewes (Balfour Estate) 12s 2d, 12s 'ld, and 12s 7d, cull lambs (Balfour Estate; 5s (id, sound mouthed ewes 7s 6cl, Bs, 9s 4d, 9s 7cl and 10s 10d, 2-tooth ewes lis Gd, 4-tooth ewes lis Gd, 4 6-tootb ewes (good) 14s 9d, cull ewes (is lid to 7s, 2 tooth wethers 10s 9d to lis Id, woolly rape lambs 9s 6d, 10s 2d to 10s Gd, shorn rape lambs 8s Gd, 9s 3d to 9s Gd, cull lambs 3s to 6s, 3 and 4 year bullocks £5 10s, 3 year steers £4 6s to £5, 2-S year steers £<i 10s to £3 15s, 18 months steers £2 Gs to £2 10s, forward empty cows £2 15s to £3 3s, fat cows £3 17s Gd to £4.
MASTERTON STOCK SALE. Messrs Abraham and Williams, Ltd., held their Masterton sal? ye; - terday, and report as follows: —We submitted a good yarding of sheep and an extra heavy yarding of cattle, upwards of ons thousand head of the 1 itter being yarded, to a large attendance of buyers. In sheep, owners reserves were somewhat on the high side, and most lines were passed in at auction. Every line, however, with the exception of two small lots, was immediately snapped up at prices fully up to late rates. In cattle, we offered an exti'a heavy yarding of first-class bullocks, which were keenly competed for, and we had no difficulty in quitting the whole catalogue at full market rates. We quote:—Sheep —Wethers lis to 13s, breeding ewes lis to 13s Gd, store ewes 8s 3d to 9s 4d, cull ewes 6s 6d to 7s Id, lambs 8s to 10s 4d. Cattle—Fat cows (light) £3 lt>s f o £4 10s, fat and forward cows £2 10s to £3 13s, empty heifers £2 to £2 12s Gd, yearling heifers £1 to £1 ss; bullocks, of which over 500 head were yarded, best bullocks £7 2s, others £6 lis. £6 10s, £8 Bs, £0 3s, £6 down to £5 16s, 2£ to 3 year old steers £4 12s to £5 Us. 18 months to 2 year old steers £2 13s to £3 10s, mixed yearlings IGs to 30s.
