MEN OF THE FUTURE.

Even were there no possibility of our boys ever being called upon to defend their country, we sbould still believe strongly in the cadet movement, and advise every boy to join in it with all the enthusiasm he csn master, says the "Taranaki Herald." The holding of cadet encampments is calculated to arouse that enthusiasm and to give the boys a real intei*est in their training, and it is a pleasure to.know that these boys are not treating the encampment altogether as a holiday, but are paying earnest attention to their duties. If this spirit is maintained, and if parents throughout the Dominion will permit their boys to join in the movement, New Zealand will have little to fear for the safety of the country when these boys come to man's estate.
