-CADET COMPETITIONS. By Telegraph—Press Association. WELLINGTON, December 23. In the Cadet shooting competitions Under the auspices of the Educatior Department, the Government Shielc lor the North Island was won by the Dannevirke North No. 1 Company With the fine score of 798 out of a possible 840. This Company won the same shield last year with a score of 752. The Shield for the South Island • was won by the North East Valley School (Dunedin), whose score was "724. The monthly meeting of the XMauriceville County Council was held on Saturday last. There were present Crs F. W. H. Kummer, H. J. Dagg, C. Forsberg, J. E. Perry and Ole Itaks-jti.
