Mr Ji C. Boddington reports that the rainfall registered at Upper Plain for the 24 hours up till 9 a.m. on Wednesday was 35 points. CAPTAIN EDWIN'S REPORT. By- Telegraph—Press Association. WELLINGTON, December 23. The following is Captain Edwin's forecast to 3 p.m. to-morrow:— Moderate to strong southerly winds are probable north of East Cape and Kawhia; south-easterly strong to gale thence to > Cape Farewell and Kaikotira, and northerly winds strong to gale elsewhere; northerly winds also probably extending northwards to New Plymouth and Napier after 16 hours. Unsettled weather and rain probable'generally; barometer rising slowly north of New Plymouth and Napier,,but falling elsewhere.
