LONDON, December 22

The five deaths on the steamer Ashton at Grimsby have been found to be due to fumes from ferro-silicon in the cargo.

A cablegram last week stated that five Russian passengers on the steamer Aston, which had arrived at Grimsby, from Antwerp, died on board within ten minutes of each other. The deaths were attributed to cholera, and the vessel.was quarantined.
